Lunar New Year-2008

All,

1) If you are interested in strictly volunteering to help the community in the health fair at Cho Tet, please let me know. I don't think there is any leadership element other than just volunteering and helping out the needy. If you know your peers (non-AAS) who could come and help, please let me know.

2) AAS will also has a table at the same place and time to sell AAS T-Shirts and to pass flyers about our scholarship, Bao's medical mission trip, and provide orientation about AAS and membership requirement. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Khoa, Vu or Minh Ha.

Feedback from Diane Nguyen,

THANK YOU!!!
What an awesome team! Another mission accomplished. I hope everyone had a good time as much as I did. Thank you.. until the next time. -di

Minh Ha - the signs and name tags were wonderful. You did a great job. Of course, thanks for being a great hostess at the fair.

Nicole - the bio power point was a big hit! the power point looked great on my lap top but when it was screened and large, your creativity really enhanced the bios! Thank you.

Jacky - the certificates are wonderful. It was a pleasure to finally meet you. And you guys even got one for me...I am touched =)

Khoa - trouble maker =) it was good to finally meet you in person and talk to you. I look forward to working on the next flyer!

of course a. Dat .. thank you for giving me this opportunity to meet a wonderful group of talented and kind hearted souls... students as well as professionals. This fair has certainly broaden my horizons personally and professionally.

Power Point Presentation & Thank You

I thought i should share this ppt with you. Creative work and pleasing!
Frankly, I don't really know what 's going to happen tomorrow, but i do know that because of our continuous growth from past projects, this project has been a fun ride at least for me, mostly because I was not needed to be involved in every aspect of the project, and i did not have to send an individual email asking for help. I guess i can speak on behalf of Diane, Jim and other professionals also. That said, and regardless of the turnout for tomorrow and the subsequent feedback,

AAS would like to thank Christina for being the best you can be; Leading an event at this magnitude and being able to use your people's skills with both AAS and GW VSA are not an easy thing

AAS would like to thank Minh Ha (GMU), Khoa (GMU) and Vu (Annandale HS) for stepping up to the plate when things seemed not to go well! What about them waking up 6:30 AM in the morning to copy 600 flyers and distribute them all at Eden and other supermarkets throughout the day. And the scholarship flyer done in time for tomorrow's event! What about Khoa initiating his contact with numerous high schools in Fairfax County to make sure that the news was announced to the students.

AAS would like to thank Jacky (GMU) and Nicole for your thoughtfullness and efficient contributions with the artful certificate(s) and nicely presented ppt, respectively.

AAS would like to thank Tam (Faifax HS) for making to the TV interview to spread the words about the event, when you knew that the TV interview day was also your special day.

What about many others who have been helping out in outreach including K-Mi and our exec council (Kudos to them for running our recent general meeting which generates lots of smiles:)).

And AAS woudl like to recognize the council which put in quite a number of hours for their proposal's submission to the GW VSA. While the proposal did not get through, It was the thoughts and willingness to step up as leaders and help others that count here.

Hopefully, all of these wiil be captured by the news committee for posting etc.

Regards,
Dave
